Waiata Anthems is a movement empowering Māori musicians to release their music in Te Reo Māori. While working at LIKEMINDS, I helped animate the new brand and campaign for Waiata Anthems, as well as animating a 'Taraketi' as a lyric video for Kora.

To begin with, I animated the logo mark using Houdini, in a way that symbolises growth and new beginnings as it unfurls like a fern.
I then rendered the logo for 3D printing, which LIKEMINDS presented as a Taonga (special sacred gift) to the participants.
For the main campaign in 2022, the logo served as a window into the world of Waiata, where each musician was celebrated with bold colours and dynamic visuals. I experimented with a range of type animation styles to suit the different genres of music.
For the lyric video, I used type animation that mimicked the power of the words behind Kora's re-leased song 'Politician'.
